Winthrop University Internship Work
Fall 2024
Marketing Materials, Brand guidelines
During my Internship at Winthrop University, I worked with many directors to capture their visions for marketing materials for their events, while staying in line with Winthrop University’s brand guidelines, and department guidelines.

During my Internship, I created a poster for the Winthrop Chorale and Chamber Singers Concert, a Tee-shirt design concept for the Department of Social Work’s 5K, and made different materials for the UnDance Event.

Winthrop Chorale and Chamber Singers Concert; “For The Journey.”

Initial Concepts

Before I knew what the Chorale and Chamber Singers Concert was going to be titled, I made some initial concept posters to get my ideas flowing. I really enjoyed creating something that was so loud and expressive and really allowed me to be creative.

However, these didn’t really fit the vibe of the concert, and were more instrument focused and jazzy. I still really like these concepts, though!

Second Concepts

After a quick cold email with the event’s director, he stated that the concert was going to be named, “The Road Home.” I was instantly inspired and got to work, really trying to capture that homey feeling.

After getting feedback from Lauren Grad, I ended up going with the first option, and revising it just a bit.

This is the revised poster, with a social media post and TV banner. However, this didn’t quite fit with what the director had in mind.

Final Concepts

After sending these over to the director, he felt as though they were too homey, and instead thought “The Road Home” meant more of a personal journey. He also changed the name to “For The Journey.” I then sent this moodboard to him to get a better sense of the vibe and look he was going for.

He really enjoyed the road of the top middle, and suggested something like that instead. This is where the third and final concept comes in.

With help from Lauren, this ended up being the final results.

Department of Social Work; Fall 5K Run

Initial Concept

When we met with Dr. Orme for the 5K Tee-shirt concepts, she said that she wanted a fall vibe for the shirts. She also said that the color palette was limited, but that something fall colored would probably be doable.

This was my initial concept, but I didn’t like how the ghost turned out, and it just didn’t feel right. After some feedback from Kyahdric Moses, I started my second concept.

Second Concept

In our initial meeting with Dr. Orme, she mentioned sugar skulls and how they could be a good icon to  include on the shirts, so I went with this idea instead.

While my concept didn’t get picked for the run, I still enjoyed creating these designs and working with Dr. Orme! She is such an amazing professor and it was a joy to work with her.

UnDance Marketing Materials

The UnDance event branding had already been created by now seniors Molly Wilson and Marianne Jenkins, and I was tasked with creating different versions of the poster to promote the event.
